Sunday Morning Learning Groups
Winter 2008 Sunday Adult Learning Groups starting January 26, 2008
Community is a very important part of every Christian’s spiritual growth. In community we are challenged and encouraged. We are offered accountability and given the opportunity to cultivate deep relationships–with God and others. Learning groups at Grace Church are designed to help adult men and women grow spiritually in community. Even though we may be at different places in our spiritual journey, we hope to offer a learning opportunity that meets you where you are. Please join us!

9:00am

    Minor Prophets
    Mike Plourde
In this class we will resume the study of the minor Prophets. Our emphasis will be on understanding what the prophet was saying to his generation and how that applies to our lives in the Twenty-first century. You need not have been present for the previous studies. All you need is an open heart and willing mind.

    Foundational Truths for Spiritual Growth
    Tim Cowen
Many Christians desire to know God better, to experience God more deeply and to love God more. God desires these traits for us too. Failing to grow is not an option for believers—at least, not if we want to please God. In this class, designed with new believers in mind, we will explore how we can grow spiritually. Tony Evans has written the book, Life Essentials, which will guide us in this study.

10:45am

    Consider the Sermon
    Enoch Stevenson
You hear the Sunday morning sermon and find it challenging. How did it affect others who listened? What does the message mean for everyday life? After a time of prayer, this class engages in a discussion in which class members are warmly welcomed to share their insights and experiences or just listen to the conversation. Together we are building a deeper understanding of the truth, meaning, and purpose that God has given us.

Philippians - A Letter From Prison
    Pamela Canning (Women)
Paul's prison letter to the church in Philippi has words of thanks, encouragement, correction and challenge. God's Word through Paul is relevant for us today! Please join us as we study God's Word together.

Praying: Finding Our Way Through Duty to Delight
Pastor Dan Williams & David Carnahan
Be honest; do you pray? If so, why do you pray? How should you pray? Is it possible for someone to move from no praying or dutiful praying to delightful praying? For most Christians, prayer is a struggle. This class combines passionate exploration of the subject of prayer with practical advice and experiments in prayer. "Praying is the essence of Christian existence," says J.I. Packer. Join us as we seek to strengthen our connection to God through prayer.
