Ministries & Activities

Youth
Our purpose is to challenge teens in regard to their faith in Christ. We want to help them become worshipers of God by developing a strong personal relationship with the Lord through studying His word, being with His people and reaching out to the world around them.

For Teens in 6th through 12th grades we have youth group every Wednesday night. The high school (grades 9-12) meets in the youth room and takes part in a time of worship, games and discussion of topics relevant to the world today. The middle school (grades 6-8) usually starts in the gym for games and a time of fellowship. This spring they will be looking at the parables of Jesus and discovering the truths that they can make active in their daily lives. Encourage your kids to come out and bring their friends. The youth staff loves teens, spending time with them and encouraging them in spiritual things.

High School Ministry (grades 9-12)

    Sunday Morning - 9:00 am from September 9th - Mid-June
This year we are focussing on the book of Daniel and the personal tests of integrity that Daniel faced. In addition we will be studying how we can reach out to others in need in our schools, work and at home. Each class is designed to challenge your teen with the truths and principles of God found in the Bible.
Youth Group - Wednesday Night 7-8:15 pm from September 19 - May 21
On Wednesday night it is our goal to help teens process the world around them and help them develop a Biblical world-view. We also take time each week in prayer for each other and in worship led by the teen worship band, QHP. The youth staff looks forward to this time to develop relationships between teens and with the leaders.
GEO (Girls/Guys Evening Out) 2nd Sunday of the month, September - June
Girls meet from 4-6:30 pm at Becky Mortland's house and the guys meet from 4:30-6:30 pm at the church. The purpose of GEO is to give the teens a chance to talk about serious issues like dating, sex and relationships in a safe, gender specific environment. We talk about issues that are important to guys and girls from a Biblical point of view.
    Sports Ministry
We have sports activities scheduled on a regular basis. Once a month we have a high school basketball night and on another Saturday night we have a hockey night. Hockey night is open to both high school and middle school.
    Mission Trips
We have an active youth mission program and this year we are sending a team to France to work with the Moyers outside of Paris.
    Accountability Partners
The high school students have an opportunity to sign up for an adult accountability partner who will be hold them accountable in areas of weakness in their lives. Some of these relationships develop into disipleship where the pair studies the Bible on a regular basis and prays through the struggles in their lives.
    Events
Throughout the year we have events offered to the teens where they can invite their friends and enjoy a safe place to have fun and interact with their peers. Check the calendar for upcoming events. Some highlights of our year are Sno Glo in January and the Spring Retreat in April.
Middle School (grades 6-8)
Sunday Morning 9am from September 9th till Mid-June
This year the middle school will be studying the debate over Creationism and they will process some of the important questions surrounding the issue. In every class the teens are in the Bible discovering the truths that God has for them and how it works in their lives.
Youth Group - Wednesday Night Sept. 19th - May 31
Most Wednesday nights we meet in the church gym and have a gym night and devotional time. A couple of times a month we do specials like House Tours, Food Frenzy and Parent's night. Check the calendar to see what is coming up.
GEO - Every other month on the 4th Sunday Night 4:30-6:30 pm at church
Similar to the high school we will divide the guys and girls to talk about issues that they deal with every day like self-esteem, dating and other fun stuff like that. It is a great time for your teen to "let down their hair" and deal with tough topics in an easy manner.
    Events
Throughout the year we have events scheduled for the teens. We encourage the teens to bring their friends and have fun all together. Check the calendar for the events coming up. In middle school the big event is the Lock-In in the spring in addition to Sno Glo and the Spring Retreat. No one wants to miss them.
